I've seen progress on many levels today.
I got a full night of sleep, and though I woke up sad not to have a dog next to me, I managed to get moving, make coffee, and greet the day before I got bogged down in missing Anneke and Mischa. Those two noodle brains probably won't realize I'm missing for another 3 weeks anyway!
I finished the lion's share of packing today, which is not my favorite task (is it anyone's?) and it's intensely gratifying to see how much less I have. Nearly everything that went into a box today is an object that is useful, beautiful, or both. The photo above represents about 1/3 of my total boxes...not too shabby, considering I moved in here with many, many more than that. I think I've given away over half of my belongings over the past two years. Aside from feeling good, it certainly makes packing a whole lot simpler.
The next challenge is to move all of this stuff tomorrow night and then start trying to figure out how I'm going to live and work comfortably in a Ford Focus hatchback. Stay tuned, this should get interesting quickly!
