After leaving Circle T Farms, I stopped in at Weeki Wachi State Park to take in a live mermaid show. This place has been on my bucket list since I started planning this trip and it's safe to say that I was pretty excited! I sat in a freezing cold, subterranean theater facing the natural spring with a busload of senior citizens and watched The Little Mermaid unfold. Pure magic! Later, a friend sent me this article, which details the history of Weeki Wachi since it opened in 1947. There are other fun things to do there, like rafting and rides, but I had some dogs to meet in Tampa, so I hit the road after the show and a quick picnic lunch in the parking lot.
